A heart for your heart

The heart is a strong symbol of our warmest affections. Love, passion, friendship, happiness, joy—these all make our hearts beat a little faster in our chests.

We have many hearts in our collection and all of them carry their own unique symbolism. A hand-crafted heart made of recycled 925 sterling silver or 18K gold is a beautiful gift which carries your feelings to another person.

”I carry your heart with me (i carry it in my heart)”
EE Cummings

Historical heartbeats

The heart is a muscle which can be perceived and felt. It beats more quickly when we feel strong, it feels heavy when we grieve and it feels light when life is fun. There is room for all of life within the heart, within the two chambers and the two atria. It’s not strange, then, that it serves as a strong symbol for us.

Did you know that…

… in the Middle Ages, the heart was symbolized by a cone? The simplified heart, with two arches ending in a point emerged among artists during the 14th and 15th centuries.

… the heart became a verb in 1977, when it was used in the classic logo ”I NY”.

… the heart as an emoji was introduced in 1999 in Japan. Today there are over 40 different emoji forms of the heart. The red heart remains perpetually on the list of the top-used emojis in the world.
