The blue mussel – Mytilus Edulis – a beautiful symbol for the purification of the sea
This piece is part of Guldviva’s 30-collection, created to celebrate our 30th anniversary. Through a cooperation with the John Nurminen Foundation each piece from this collection will contribute to the reduction, by 30 kg, of algal growth in the Baltic Sea. Mussels are fantastic in many ways. Every little mollusc filters several litres of water per hour, and eats nutrients such as nitrogen and phosphorus that will otherwise contribute to algal growth. It is estimated that all molluscs together filter the entire water volume of the Baltic Sea at least once annually. This can be compared to the in- and outflow of water around Denmark where it takes about 20 years to replace the water coming from the Baltic Sea.
The blue mussel has a sturdy outside and a shimmering mother of pearl inside. The opened blue mussel also forms the shape of a heart.
GULDVIVA’s mussel is oxidized to resemble the beautiful surface of a real blue mussel.

Every piece of Guldviva jewellery is made by hand in our own workshop in the Maritime Quarter in Mariehamn on Åland. This guarantees high-quality, professional, solid craftsmanship.
All of our jewellery is produced from solid precious metals; it is never filled with other metals or hollow. Even the chains that come with our jewellery, but which we don’t produce ourselves, are of the highest quality, in either 925 sterling silver or 18K gold.
The only base materials we use are either nickel-free 925 sterling silver or 18K gold. We aspire to a completely sustainable production process and today we only use 100 per cent recycled metal.
Your Guldviva jewellery is designed and made to last and to be handed down through the generations. This is why we have a lifetime warranty on all of our jewellery and repair all damages which arise from eventual mistakes in production. We will even be happy to repair damages which arise from wear-and-tear or accidents, but for the price of the normal cost of labour.
Silver and gold are metals which endure forever, but the jewellery you wear will often take on signs of frequent use. For this reason, we offer a free professional polishing of all Guldviva jewellery. For example, we can roll the jewellery in a drum with polishing beads, reapply the surface finish by hand and, if necessary, reapply antique treatments. Your jewellery will be like new again.
A gift card from Guldviva gives the recipient a whole world of handcrafted jewellery to choose from, according to their own taste, style and liking.

VAT is not charged on orders from countries outside of the EU.
Orders are delivered by mail, with the method of shipping being determined by the size of the order.
We send your order as soon as possible, but no later than seven days from the day we receive your payment, provided no other agreement has been made. Shipments to Åland and Finland normally take between 2 and 3 days to arrive, within the EU, between 3 and 5 days, and international deliveries 5 to 10 days. These transport times can only be taken as estimates. We cannot be held responsible for delays caused by customs authorities in the destination country.

Guldviva’s jewellery carries a lifetime warranty. The warranty is valid for any faults in production. Wear-and-tear or damage from normal use is not covered by the warranty. Chains are not covered by the warranty.
The price for all Guldviva jewellery and chains sold by Guldviva includes a professional polishing. This means that a customer may, at any time in the future, have his or her jewellery professionally polished and cleaned without extra cost. Any costs for shipping to the shop are paid by the customer. Priority/1st class postage to return the jewellery to the customer after polishing is paid by Guldviva.
As a consumer, you have 14 days to return an item and 90 days within which to exchange it. You must notify us by email at info@guldviva.com, or by letter to one of the addresses below, within 14 days of the date you received the item if you want to return it. Items should be returned as soon as possible and no later than 14 days from the date that you notified us that you wish to return the item.
Items must be returned unused and in their original packaging.
Your money will be refunded on the conditions that the item has not been used and that it is returned in its original packaging.

You will be refunded for returned items within 14 days from the day that Guldviva receives notification that you want to return your item. Guldviva reserve the right to postpone refunds until we have received the returned item. We will refund the full cost of the item, plus shipping, on the condition that the order is returned in its entirety. Shipping will be refunded for the cheapest shipping alternative which we offer. The refund will be made to a bank account or according to agreement with the customer.
If you feel that your item is defective, contact us and tell us what the defect is as soon as possible after discovering it. If a defect is found, we will offer you a new or equivalent item, or alternatively, free reparation to correct the defect. In this case we will reimburse you for any shipping costs, within 14 days from the day that we receive the item.

The products and shipping and handling costs are all paid for when an order is placed. Paytrail Oy handles payments for orders placed within Finland, on Åland, or from within countries outside of the EU. Orders placed from within other EU countries are handled by Klarna.
For deliveries within Finland and Sweden payment can also be made by C.O.D.
