A safe harbour

The sea gives. The sea takes. A self-evident truth for one who lives on an island or near a coast. Perhaps this is also the very reason that we are in a constant struggle to subdue, to whatever small extent we can, the wind and the waves. The anchor and the knot bind us to one place, keep us at the dock.

There is security, protection and community in the harbour. With the sail and the rudder, we transform the forces of nature into a route away or a route home. The sea has formed much of our jewellery here at Guldviva. We have gathered all of them here.

”To reach a port we must set sail.Sail, not tie at anchor.Sail, not drift.”
Franklin D. Roosevelt
